AboutCoach Cunningham

Coach Cunningham is a former Division I Goalkeeper at Adelphi University (Garden City, NY) where he earned his B.S. in Health and Physical Education.  Coach Cunningham is the Head Coach of the Varsity Girls Soccer team at Fairfield Warde H.S and was recently named 2014 CGSCA CT Coach of the Year and 2017 CHSCA Coach of the Year. 

 

Coach Cunningham took over the girls soccer program at Seymour High School.  In his first regular season, the Wildcats went 8-8 and qualified for the NVL and Class M state tournament.  Their 8 wins is the most in the soccer programs history.  Coach Cunningham was also named NVL Coach of the Year. 

 

Prior to coaching at Seymour Coach Cunningham spent 12 seasons as the head coach of Fairfield Warde High School.  At Warde, Cunningham’s Mustangs have amassed 133 wins, which also includes a Class L State Championship in 2007, Class LL State runner up in 2014 and an FCIAC Championship in 2014.  Since 2007, Warde has had 1 player named All-American, 5 players named to the All-New England team and many others named to the Connecticut All-State team.  There have been many Division I, II and III collegiate soccer players who have graduated from the Fairfield Warde soccer program, with schools including Wake Forest, UCONN, Richmond, Colgate, Vanderbilt and Quinnipiac to name a few.
